Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

“Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential……Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.”

The EYFS Statutory Framework is the standards that schools and childcare providers must meet for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5. This is sometimes referred to as the EYFS. We will keep you updated on your child’s progress through observations made by their key person on the Famly app. These observations are made based on the EYFS.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is broken into seven stages:

  1. Communication and Language

  2. Personal, Social and Emotional

  3. Physical Development

  4. Understanding The World

  5. Mathematics

  6. Literacy

  7. Expressive Arts and Design
