Ages 0 - 20 Months

Welcome to our Daisy Room

  • At Playpals, we use a secure app called Famly to help keep you closely connected to your child’s day. With your own private passcode, you can easily access updates on your little one’s routines, including sleep, meals, and nappy changes.

Famly also has a handy messaging feature, so you can reach out to us anytime and feel reassured knowing we’re just a message away. We love sharing moments from your child’s day—whether it’s sweet photos of them playing and exploring, or thoughtful observations that show how they’re growing and developing.

  • In the Poppy room, we have three meals and two snacks throughout the day:

    • Breakfast (8:45am) - Cereal or porridge

    • Morning snack (10:30/11am) - Fruit or veg

    • Lunch (12pm) - A hot meal

    • Afternoon Snack (3pm) - Biscuit and milk (oat/soya milk is provided where applicable.)

    • Tea (4:30/5pm) - Sandwiches, fruit and veg

Children sit at the table together, and enjoy socializing as they build positive meal time routines. In the Daisy room we encourage children to hold their own spoons, and attempt to feed themselves to aid in their independent feeding skills.

All full time staff are fully trained in food handling, and this is checked regularly to ensure that all staff have up to date training.

You can also view our Healthy Eating and Mealtime policies.

  • An all about me will be given to the parents of the child to let the practitioners in the room know about the likes and dislikes of the child and any other helpful information to help the child settle in and feel most comfortable. There is also a section on the child’s all about me that allows the parents to discuss about the child’s eating habits or if the child still has formula/ breast milk, to let us know how much needs to be provided throughout the day.

  • In all rooms we aim to help the children work on the independent skills, that will carry them on through to the next stage of their journey and development.

In the Daisy Room, we are working towards these independent skills:

    • I can feed myself with a spoon

    • I can find my coat

    • I can help put toys away when singing the 'tidy up' song

    • I can get myself a tissue and make an attempt to wipe my nose

    • I can find my own shoes, slippers, or wellies

    • I can drink from a cup with a lid

Daisy room is a comfortable and stimulating environment for the children to explore and develop into bright and happy toddlers.
